Join the PMA Indiana District for an executive roundtable on Thursday, October 12. The district will host three leaders in the metalforming industry. After the conclusion of the presentations, Bill Gaskin—President Emeritus, PMA—will facilitate a roundtable discussion.
Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be provided. The event also will honor Bill’s 40 years of service to our association and the industry.
Speaker topics:
- Roy Hardy—learn about his life experiences prior to joining PMA and the vision that he is working toward for our organization.
- John Guzik—will update us on the latest efforts in Washington as they relate to trade (NAFTA, steel tariffs) and tax reform. John also will discuss the latest on the rewrite of EPA and Department of Labor regulations and the effects on manufacturers. In addition, The Franklin Partnership offers an array of services to PMA and its members from help with exporting products to identifying local colleges and schools training students for our industry. Come learn about the opportunities and support available to you and your company from The Franklin Partnership as a member of PMA.
- Myron Kanning—remaining competitive in this ever-changing industry is critical to success. Myron will present Prepping for FutureBiz. He will address how you and your company can remain competitive in an escalating world of global change. Myron will discuss how leaders must continually address what is on the horizon and what changes are required to promote success and ensure your company, management, technology and products remain competitive and relevant in this global market.

Roy Hardy, President, Precision Metalforming Association
Roy W. Hardy is the president of the Precision Metalforming Association. Prior to joining PMA, Roy served as president and Chief Staff Officer of the Forging Industry Association, located in Cleveland, OH. Roy currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Manufacturers’ Council of Manufacturing Associations, and has served on the Board of Advisors for the FIA/DOD Manufacturing Consortium since 2009. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, and also has earned a Master of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.
John Guzik, Founding Partner, The Franklin Partnership
John Guzik is a founding partner of The Franklin Partnership with more than 20 years of Capitol Hill and campaign experience. Previously, John served as Chief of Staff for Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp. He was the top legislative strategist working on tax, trade, health care, transportation and agriculture issues. John also works closely with the Senate Finance Committee on health care, tax, trade, and many other issues important to his clients.
Myron Kanning, Senior Lecturer, Indiana University Kelley School of Business
Myron Kanning has been described as an “outlier” and a “practical futurist.” This high-results executive, educator and business advisor is passionate about making a difference in the competitiveness of local, Indiana and the American economies. Myron’s fast-paced, high-energy and insightful yet practical style challenges conventional and traditional business knowledge. He breaks down past performance perceptions, practices and paradigms.
