Meeting Detail:
Join us for a tour of the Industrial Engineering Technology department and a mutual sharing of ideas and successes. Technology has become an integral part of manufacturing and can have huge impacts on productivity, profitability and the economic success of a company and its employees. The students and staff at MTSU share a common vision with industry and that is to excel in our respective environments through innovation and state-of-the-art technological advancements.
Throughout this tour you will see some of MTSU’s outstanding accomplishments and be exposed to the state of the art technologies that are being taught. The labs consist of some of the following:
- Machine shop used by students to demonstrate and prove theories and for hands-on instruction
- Robotic theory, development and successful robotic implementation
- Programmable logic controllers (PLC) used to turn machines into state-of-the-art productivity centers with infinite process capabilities
- Metallurgical testing
- Computer logics
- Electronics lab
- Experimental Vehicle Programs
We also will see an exciting new technology being developed by Dr. Charles Perry, which has the potential to double fuel mileage by means of a Plug in Conversion kit that can be attached to the rear axle of most vehicles.
Meet and greet students as they demonstrate and show some of the projects they have worked on and equipment used in the projects.
Learn about available student internships and co-op opportunities and the benefits and vision they offer to your companies.
