PMA Awards of Excellence Deadline Quickly Approaching—Apply by May 31
PMA encourages companies that that excel in the areas of design, process control, productivity, product development, quality, safety and training and education to submit an entry for the 2013 Awards of Excellence in Metalforming. Need Guidance on the SEC's Conflict Minerals Rule?
This rule requires that, as of January 1, 2013, publicly traded companies and their suppliers begin tracking whether their production includes any of four minerals (tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold) originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and adjoining countries. First reports are due May 31, 2014. The challenge for a downstream manufacturing supplier: Each of its customers may have different compliance requirements of their supply-chain partners. PMA's lobbying team at The Franklin Partnership has summarized the rule and offers "best practices" guidance to help suppliers satisfy customer requests.
