Mr. Craig M. Fitzgerald works in the Strategic Planning and Global Services practice of Plante & Moran, PLLC, Certified Public Accountants and Management Consultants. Prior to joining Plante & Moran, Mr. Fitzgerald held progressively more responsible financial, materials management and vehicle launch positions with GM, Ford and Volkswagen of America. He consults primarily with middle-market manufacturers on various issues including strategic and tactical planning, market attractiveness analysis and strategic due diligence.
Mr. Fitzgerald has published a regular column entitled “Suppliers–Pipeline Commentary” in Ward’s AutoWorld, “Supply Line” in AIAG’s Actionline magazine and had a monthly column in Automotive Industries magazine. He also is regularly quoted in various industry and business journals including Automotive News, The Detroit News, Crain’s Detroit Business, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg TV, USA Today and U.S. News and World Report.
Mr. Fitzgerald is a nationally recognized expert on the automotive supplier industry, and is a frequent speaker at the University of Michigan’s Automotive Industry Briefing (Traverse City, MI). Mr. Fitzgerald has earned the designations of Certified Management Accountant (CMA) (inactive) and is Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) (inactive). His educational background includes a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Miami University (Ohio). He serves as an advisor to numerous automotive supplier boards and has served as a Board Member for the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC) and was on its Executive Committee; and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Original Equipment Suppliers Association.
