Event Details

Please join us for this informative technical presentation and discussion presented by Tim Qualls, Regional Manager at P/A Industries, located in Bloomfield, CT.

Topics covered include:

  • Coil handling and press feeding advancements and tips to increase pressroom efficiencies.
  • Sensor technology utilized in modern coil-handling applications including feed to registration, laser sensors used for loop control and stock reel brake adjustment.
  • Tips for proper servo feed and stock straightener roll adjustment.

Attendees will be exposed to sensor technologies that can be utilized in existing equipment and future applications. Tighter tolerance parts can be produced, due to no accumulated feed error. Straighter coil stock results in less binding in the die and a higher quality finished part. Laser sensors are easily calibrated and can prevent coil damage from incorrect brake adjustment or material dragging across the pressroom floor.

For nearly 60 years, P/A has been designing and building equipment for the metal stamping, wire forming and fabrication industries. Pneumatic Applications Company was formed in 1953 as a manufacturer of press clutches, brakes, controls and press feeding equipment. In 1974, the name was shortened and a trademark was registered for P/A Industries Inc. P/A began designing and building automation equipment for the metal stamping and fabricating industry and currently produces feeds for coil stock to 72" wide.
