CLEVELAND, OH—April 27, 2005—Through last year’s inaugural METALFORM Mexico trade show in Mexico City, the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) laid the groundwork for establishing a global mission to support Mexican manufacturing internationally. The association has several plans to invest further to strengthen its influence and build alliances with influential Mexican trade organizations and business leaders in 2005. Efforts to grow in the Mexican market include expanding Mexican member benefits with full Spanish-language support, and increasing the number of Spanish issues of MetalForming magazine—PMA’s industry-leading publication for manufacturers of fabricated metal products, automotive stampings, electric and electronic equipment, appliances and other similar products. The magazine plans to publish Spring and Fall Spanish-language editions this year. The association will also launch three educational seminars in Mexico in 2005. Two will offer instruction on press safety, and will be held on June 14 in Monterrey and June 16 in Mexico City. The third will be part of the METALFORM Mexico Educational Conference on September 29-30 in Monterrey. The conference will encompass a wide variety of subjects that are of vital concern to engineers, production managers and others in the Mexican metalforming industry. METALFORM, the premier exposition and conference for the metalforming industry, launched its first Mexican show in Mexico City last year, which was met with great success. Building on that success, METALFORM Mexico 2005 will be held at the Cintermex in Monterrey September 28-30. Approximately 120 exhibiting companies and 3,000 attendees are expected, nearly doubling the numbers from last year’s show. The Mexican show will alternate each year between Mexico City and Monterrey, effectively covering the entire Mexican metalforming market. METALFORM Mexico is gaining attention from every corner of the globe and encouraging international investors to attend. Expanded promotions will include Japan, Italy, Germany, U.K., Brazil and Spain. PMA and METALFORM will continue the effort of building strong alliances and expanding into the Mexican market, strengthening the link to Latin America. PMA is the full-service trade association representing the $41-billion metalforming industry of North America—the industry that creates precision metal products using stamping, fabricating and other value-added processes. Its nearly 1200 member companies include metal stampers, fabricators, spinners, slide formers and roll formers as well as suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the industry. Members are located in 30 countries, with the majority found in North America—in 41 states of the United States as well as Canada and Mexico.
