The PMA Southeast District has been revitalized, and will be hosting its second event on Tuesday, March 20. The event will include a presentation by Roy Hardy, PMA president, on current PMA initiatives and how PMA membership can benefit your company. In addition to Roy’s presentation, Dave Arndt, PMA chair, will facilitate a roundtable discussion that will touch on the most pressing issues facing our industry. Lastly, the event will conclude with a plant tour of Husqvarna where you will see how the company produces outdoor power equipment. 

About Husqvarna
Husqvarna is the leading manufacturer of outdoor power products such as lawn-and grounds-care products, saws and tree-care products, turf-care products, and snow blowers.  The Husqvarna plant in Orangeburg manufactures ride-on lawn mowers.  The facility boasts more than 2 million square feet with around 2200 employees.

Roy Hardy is the president of PMA, a position he has held since May 2017. Prior to joining PMA, Hardy served as president and chief staff officer of the Forging Industry Association. He held this position since 2009. Hardy currently serves on the board of directors for the National Association of Manufacturers’ Council of Manufacturing Associations, and has served on the board of advisors for the FIA/DOD Manufacturing Consortium since 2009. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering, and also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Cleveland State University. Hardy worked in the metals industry in varied levels of management since 1983, and owned his own business from 2002 to 2009.  From 1994 to 2000 Roy was the executive director of the Heat Treating Network.

A graduate of General Motors Institute, Dave Arndt went to work on the production floor of Chevy Detroit Gear and Axle, then moved over to Ford Engineering and progressed into middle management (earning a patent along the way related to brake engineering). From there Arndt entered the prototyping world, first at Creative Industries and then with his startup company, Advanced Vehicle Concepts. Arndt’s been at the Pentaflex helm since 2012, and since that time the company has won five PMA Awards of Excellence, including awards for safety and product development.
