Join the PMA West Michigan District on April 5 to hear from U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow on key issues and topics of importance to Michigan and the United States. Since 1996, Stabenow has been representing Michigan’s interests in Washington, D.C., and became the first female from the state of Michigan to be elected to the U.S. Senate.
Key issues that Stabenow is working on include:

- Protecting our Great Lakes

Elected to the United States Senate in 2000, Debbie Stabenow is respected for her ability to build coalitions to get things done for Michigan and our nation.
As ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, and as a member of the Senate Energy, Finance, and Budget Committees, she has a powerful and unique role to play in shaping our nation's manufacturing, health care, and agriculture policies.
Among her many accomplishments, she has cut taxes for small businesses and passed initiatives to revitalize our manufacturing sector. Senator Stabenow authored a bipartisan farm bill that strengthens Michigan agriculture and invests in protecting the Great Lakes. She has played a leading role in reforming health care, and has passed reforms to improve our nation’s mental-health system.
