Lone Star District Workforce Roundtable Breakfast

Start your Lone Star golf day with a power breakfast and brainstorming to help the district bolster its local and regional workforce development.  This roundtable will feature fast-paced presentations and group discussion on best-practices in recruiting, training and retaining employees. Some are tried and true, some are new, and we hope to get more ideas from you.

The roundtable will be broken down into three 30-minute segments, with introductory presentations from an esteemed team of Lone Star District workforce advocates including:

1. Recruiting - Kyle Milan, CEO, MFG Tribe Inc.

Kyle Milan is the CEO and founder of MFG Tribe Inc., a top sales and marketing agency working only with industrial and manufacturing companies. Kyle has 20 years of experience in the industrial/manufacturing environment, holding positions from engineering to sales management. He also is the founder and head instructor of Technical Sales University, an online learning platform specifically designed to help industrial salespeople.

Kyle will present current and emerging tactics and tools to position your messaging and brand image to attract talent.

2. Training - John Kuznar, Apprenticeship & Training Representative, Dallas Field Office of Apprenticeship

John Kuznar joined the Department of Labor in October 2014, where he currently serves as an apprenticeship and training representative in the Dallas Field Office of Apprenticeship. John previously was a Performance and Labor Market Information (LMI) program analyst, and Federal Project Officer for multiple LMI and Workforce Data Quality Initiative grants, for the Employment and Training Administration’s Regional office in Dallas. He also spent more than five years with Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas as an employer services manager.

John will introduce types of training with a focus on evolving apprenticeship programs.

3. Retaining - Lance Thrailkill, CEO, All Metals Fabricating

Lance Thrailkill is the third-generation owner of All Metals Fabricating, a contract manufacturer specializing in sheet metal fabricating, welding, machining, powder coating, and electro-mechanical assembly. Lance has held several roles at the company and has served as CEO since 2018. He has been identified as an industry trendsetter by ECI, JobBOSS and IndustryWeek for embracing and implementing next generation advancements in technology, automation and the adoption of Industry 4.0 within his organization.

Lance will get the retention conversation started by sharing what’s worked and what hasn’t at his company, All Metals Fabricating.
