Grand Rapids, MI—October 14, 2021—Top metalforming industry suppliers will showcase their capabilities and present the latest technologies at a West Michigan Suppliers Night on November 9 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. The event is hosted by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) West Michigan District and will be held at The Pinnacle Center, 3330 Highland Drive, Hudsonville, MI.
“We are very excited to bring back our Suppliers Night after a tough year,” said PMA West Michigan Program Chair Andrew Galardi, senior vice president, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Grand Rapids, MI. “Having had to postpone the event in 2020 due to COVID, we used the time to consider requests to hold the event at a more central location. The Pinnacle Center was selected as a middle-ground location between Grand Rapids and the Lakeshore. We expect a strong turnout in part due to the venue’s convenient accessibility from throughout the region.”
The Suppliers Night offers the perfect environment for manufacturers looking to connect with suppliers and service providers to the stamping, fabricating, spinning, slide forming and roll forming companies in the region.
“Manufacturing is thriving in western Michigan,” said PMA West Michigan District Chairman Jeff Umlor, director of engineering at Walker Tool & Die, Inc. in Grand Rapids, MI. “We anticipate a sold-out exhibit floor featuring more than 60 suppliers, with 200 attendees visiting the event. Manufacturers should not pass up this great opportunity to meet and talk with a diverse cross-section of suppliers.”
The West Michigan District Suppliers Night is the culmination of a successful year of events, during which funds were raised to educate the next generation of industry talent and strengthen Michigan’s manufacturing voice in Washington, D.C.
The district hosted a golf outing in the spring that raised more than $21,000 to support local education efforts, including scholarships for individuals pursuing manufacturing careers. A portion of the funds from the outing allowed the West Michigan District to send 23 students from Grand Rapids Community College to Chicago for FABTECH 2021, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing tradeshow. The students were grateful for the opportunity to experience cutting-edge technologies in action and to learn about the latest industry products and developments.
The district also held a summer golf outing that raised $13,000 to support PMA’s advocacy work in Washington, D.C. on behalf of the metalforming industry. Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI) participated in the event and updated attendees about the latest actions in Congress that affect manufacturers, while listening to their concerns.
The upcoming Suppliers Night is designed for a range of manufacturing industry personnel including business owners and managers, plant managers, shop foremen, engineers and sales executives. Registration is free for attendees and is open now. Suppliers who are interested in participating can sign up here.
