To keep you updated, PMA’s team in Washington, D.C., Omar Nashashibi and Paul Nathanson, will discuss a wide range of topics affecting our industry and answer your questions about what is happening in Washington.

Omar Nashashibi, Founding Partner, The Franklin Partnership, LLP

Omar S. Nashashibi is a founding partner with The Franklin Partnership, a bipartisan lobbying firm based in Washington, D.C.  PMA retained Omar's firm to be the voice of the industry in Washington in 2002. Omar has 20 years of experience working with policymakers, politicians and the media. He lobbies the White House, members of Congress and government agencies that issue thousands of new laws and regulations each year. Before founding his own firm in 2005, Omar worked for the Office of Management and Budget, part of the White House, and a large multi-state law firm. Omar graduated from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he studied Political Science and International Affairs.

Paul Nathanson, Partner, Bracewell LLP

Paul Nathanson is a partner in the Policy Resolution Group (PRG) at Bracewell LLP in Washington, DC.  With more than 25 years of experience in public affairs, advocacy and strategic, crisis and corporate communications, Paul helps clients communicate effectively with their target audiences, including members of Congress, policymakers, the news media and the public.  Paul has managed comprehensive communications campaigns for a range of clients in the fields of manufacturing, energy, environment, natural resources, consumer products, finance and health industries.  He also has extensive experience working with manufacturers and other consuming industries on advocacy campaigns related to trade issues and is currently managing the Coalition of American Metal Manufacturers and Users, a group of trade associations and companies who are opposed to the Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum.  Paul earned a BA in International Affairs from the George Washington University and a BA in International Relations from Boston University.

Stuart Speyer has been president of Tennsco since 1984.  Tennsco manufactures steel storage and filing systems and has eight manufacturing/warehouse facilities located in Dickson, TN.  Tennsco is a family-owned company that was founded in 1962 and employs around 700 people.  The company manufactures steel cabinets, lockers, bookcases, workbenches, various types of shelving and filing systems.  These products are shipped all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico and some oversees.  Stuart has been an advocate for the U.S. steel consumers in pushing back against steel tariffs.  Stuart received a B.S.E. degree in Aerospace and Mechanical Sciences from Princeton and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
