Alexander Vincent, a recipient from the Southeast District, is pursuing a career in manufacturing because of his passion for learning and solving complex challenges. He is drawn to the manufacturing industry because it offers countless opportunities to improve machinery, robotics and automated systems while addressing the maintenance, production and operational challenges that accompany them. For Alexander, every challenge represents an opportunity to learn, adapt and improve. His desire for continuous learning is one of the primary reasons he is pursuing a future in manufacturing. In addition to the intellectual challenges the field provides, he enjoys the creative process of building and producing meaningful products that positively impact society.
Alexander’s educational goals are centered on advancing his expertise in engineering, robotics and autonomous systems. He has been accepted into Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s (ERAU) four-year Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s degree program with a specialization in Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS). This area of study aligns closely with the future of advanced manufacturing, where automation and intelligent systems continue to play an increasingly important role. Following the completion of his bachelor’s degree, Alexander hopes to continue his education by pursuing a master’s degree with an even greater focus on robotics and autonomous systems. He also intends to participate in internship opportunities offered through ERAU to gain firsthand experience within the manufacturing industry and explore the many career paths available to mechanical engineers.
Throughout his academic career, Alexander has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to academic excellence. He maintained a 4.0 GPA during his entire academic career at St. Johns River State College. Additionally, he earned a composite ACT score of 32, including scores of 36 in Reading, 32 in English, 29 in Mathematics and 29 in Science. His academic achievements have been recognized by several prestigious organizations, including the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and St. Johns River State College through placement on the President’s List.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Alexander has developed strong customer service and problem-solving skills through his work experience. From May 2022 through April 2023, he worked at Winn-Dixie, where he helped create a welcoming environment for customers and supported front-end operations. He later worked at Big Lots from November 2023 through May 2024, where his responsibilities included assisting customers, resolving issues, stocking shelves and helping maintain a clean and organized store environment. These roles strengthened his communication skills, reliability and ability to work effectively in team-oriented settings.
Alexander’s long-term vision is to become a leader in the field of robotics and autonomous systems within manufacturing. He recognizes that advancements in automation and artificial intelligence are transforming the industry and creating new opportunities for innovation. By combining his engineering education with specialized training in robotics and autonomous systems, he hopes to contribute to the design, implementation and oversight of advanced automated manufacturing facilities. His goal is to help shape the future of manufacturing by developing technologies that improve efficiency, productivity and innovation.
