Assessments

Maximize your ability to attract employees and reduce turnover! To acquire and keep the right people, it’s important to use accurate assessments to determine the strengths and weaknesses of new and current employees. Evaluating and assessing your employees is also vital to building an environment for success and maintaining high-performing teams. Contact PMA’s workforce development team to help you now and capitalize on your employees’ full potential.

Occupational Aptitude and Knowledge Assessment (OAKA):
Designed to be a predictor of an inexperienced applicant’s potential to learn the job and his/her ability to function in today’s precision manufacturing environment. The 60-item, 60-minute, best answer multiple-choice assessment is intended for those entering into basic manufacturing training programs and apprenticeships or applying for job vacancies as entry-level equipment operators, assemblers, fabricators, inspectors and technicians.

Below are the four primary areas of the OAKA Assessment:

  • Mechanical Aptitude & Spatial Reasoning
  • Mathematical Reasoning & Measurement
  • Problem Solving & Information
  • Industry Understanding and Behaviors

The OAKA provides another tool to evaluate those job applicants who wish to enter, transition or upskill into a career in metalworking. OAKA is available for purchase through PMA’s online training platform, METALFORM EDU.

Other Assessments:
Increase productivity, improve teamwork and improve communication with personality/behavioral assessments through PMA. These highly regarded, value-added tests can measure a plethora of tendencies that help to understand and evaluate personal and team behaviors. Programs such as DISC®, CliftonStrengths® and more are available in a consulting package for members to purchase, and can make a huge impact on the interactions, function and success of your teams.
