APSC 2025: Nashville Hosts Automotive Conference for First Time in 32-Year History

For the first time in its 32-year history, the Automotive Parts Suppliers Conference (APSC) took place in Nashville, TN, on October 28-29, 2025. The event brought together executives, engineers and decision-makers from across the industry to tackle today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow’s opportunities. With a focus on EV adoption, supply-chain shifts, OEM expectations and U.S. policy, attendees gained a clear view of the forces shaping the future of the automotive industry.

Day one kicked off with a keynote from S&P Global’s Matthew Robinet, who outlined the realities of a supply chain still in flux and the implications of tariffs, interest rates and evolving production forecasts. General Motors’ Tony Miller shared lessons from building a world-class cost-estimation system, followed by Ganesh Iyer of MiNDCAN, who offered strategies for profitability in high-inflation environments. Experts from Plante Moran highlighted the financial value of strong OEM-supplier relationships. The day closed with a lively panel discussion with PMA-member Tier suppliers sharing their perspective on current automotive issues and a networking reception, setting the tone for collaboration.

Day two began with legal insights from Andrew Fromm of Brooks Wilkins Sharkey & Turco PLLC, followed by Juan Carlos Babilonia of ArcelorMittal, who showcased how advanced steel technologies are redefining lightweighting and performance in next-generation vehicles. His session compared steel and aluminum across cost, recyclability and lifecycle emissions, highlighting innovations such as Gen 3 steels and press-hardened steels. Magna International’s Benjamin Saltsman closed the conference with a forward-looking keynote on AI and automation in manufacturing.

From policy shifts to material innovation and digital transformation, APSC 2025 delivered two days of practical insights and forward-looking strategies—reinforcing its role as the premier event for automotive suppliers navigating an ever-changing landscape.

APSC 2026 heads to Detroit, MI, on September 15-16.
