METALFORM EDU Case Study: McGregor Metalworking Companies

METALFORM EDU has been added as a core component to McGregor Metalworking Companies’ training program. With a combination of METALFORM EDU, NIMS and a local community college, McGregor Metalworking Companies is providing a well-rounded curriculum to its employees.

Why METALFORM EDU?
McGregor Metalworking Companies already had a fairly robust training program in place by using material from NIMS, partnering with a local community college, using old PMA training videos and conducting on-the-job training, but once METALFORM EDU became available, McGregor management knew that it would be a great addition. With METALFORM EDU being online, McGregor employees had an easy way to learn the correct processes, techniques and terminology at their own pace. By first taking METALFORM EDU courses, employees had more knowledge when they started their on-the-job training portion of the curriculum. METALFORM EDU also took the place of old PMA training videos, which didn’t contain the most updated information or provide an interactive learning experience.

Results of METALFORM EDU Implementation
McGregor Metalworking Companies has ramped up implementation of METALFORM EDU across its workforce, providing the most current material for employees to learn through the easy-to-use online system. Currently, 75 percent of employees have received training through METALFORM EDU, and shop-floor employees with all levels of experience are benefiting from the courses.

New hires are able to learn the terminology and processes, while experienced workers are learning updated techniques and cross-training on processes. Managers have seen an increase in productivity due to the overall improved knowledge of each employee since incorporating METALFORM EDU into the company’s training curriculum.
