Rebecca Boing – Georgia Trade School, Welding

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT

  • Southeast District: $500
  • PMA Educational Foundation: $250
  • Total: $750

Rebecca Boing, a recipient from the Southeast District, has always had a special interest in manufacturing. She has long been fascinated by how everyday items are made and the intricate processes behind products that many people take for granted. Even something as simple as a tin can has a rich history and requires highly specialized manufacturing techniques. This curiosity and appreciation for skilled trades have fueled her desire to pursue a career in welding.

After spending time in the corporate world, Rebecca realized that her true passion lies in working with her hands and creating tangible results. Growing up, she spent much of her time outdoors, staying active and engaged with the world around her. As an adult, she has found herself spending more time indoors and behind a desk than she would like. Welding represents an opportunity to reconnect with the kind of hands-on work she enjoys while building a meaningful and rewarding career.

Her goal is to work in environments that challenge her skills and allow her to continue learning, whether that be on aircraft, construction sites, manufacturing facilities, or film sets. She is eager to master a trade so thoroughly that the techniques and skills become second nature. The opportunity to continually improve and apply her abilities in real-world settings is one of the primary reasons she has chosen to pursue welding.

Academically, Rebecca has demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence. She graduated from college with a 3.5 GPA and maintained grades in the 4.0 range throughout much of her academic career. Beyond academics, she has received numerous leadership awards through volunteer work and community involvement. Her dedication to serving others and taking initiative has been recognized repeatedly, reflecting her character, determination and work ethic.

Rebecca has been working since the age of 16 and learned early that if she wanted something, she had to earn it herself. The values of discipline, responsibility and hard work were instilled in her by her parents. She remains grateful for those lessons.

The Precision Metalforming Association Educational Foundation (PMAEF) proudly congratulates Rebecca Boing on being selected as a scholarship recipient. Her passion for manufacturing, commitment to mastering the skilled trade of welding, proven leadership, academic achievement and unwavering work ethic make her an exceptional candidate. PMAEF is honored to support Rebecca in her educational journey and wishes her continued success as she builds a rewarding career in the manufacturing industry.
