On December 7, the PMA Lone Star District hosted a State of Texas Manufacturing Workforce Development Panel Discussion and toured Collin College Technical Campus. This video is a recording of the panel discussion as well as a presentation on updates from Washington D.C. regarding workforce legislation, funding and the Texas political and policy environment.

In this panel discussion, representatives from local economic development organizations came together to share recruitment and training options, discuss what works best for different situations and address overcoming learning barriers.

The PMA workforce development team, along with PMA’s One Voice advocacy team and local workforce experts from manufacturing, education and government broke down recruitment and funding options, outlined resource paths to train and place employees for long-term success, and connected attendees with key local contacts.

The event took place on the grounds of Collin College Technical Campus, where attendees toured the campus and learned about its commitment to growing local talent through new developments and its partnership with PMA.
