Kendra is a dedicated and driven tool and die maker intern at Bihler of America, where she is gaining hands-on experience in precision machining through the Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School (BAVTS) Co-Op Program. Her training includes milling, turning, close-tolerance grinding, print reading and technical mathematics—core skills that are laying the foundation for her future in manufacturing.
Kendra’s interest in manufacturing began at home in her father’s garage shop, where she first developed an appreciation for building and problem-solving. Her passion grew when she enrolled at BAVTS and participated in a career rotation that introduced her to multiple trades. It was machining that captured her attention, thanks to its combination of technical precision and artistic expression.Currently, Kendra is working to complete the 8,000-hour tool and die apprenticeship program while also planning to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. Her long-term goal is to pursue a career as a tool and die maker and to continue expanding her knowledge in the field through higher education.
A high-achieving student, Kendra has earned Honor Roll recognition at Northampton High School and is a member of the National Vocational Honor Society at BAVTS. She placed first in the SkillsUSA district competition for precision machining and has also competed in CNC milling programming at the state level. Outside of academics, Kendra volunteers at school events such as open houses and career days and supports local community efforts through food pantry work and the National Technical Honor Society.
Kendra’s strong work ethic, technical talent and commitment to continuous learning make her a standout in the manufacturing field. She is excited to invest in the specialized tools required for her trade and to continue advancing both her education and career.
