The Southeast District hosted a Lean Manufacturing Seminar on August 26 at Hi-Wire Brewing in Ashville, NC. The event featured Lean Specialist Gwyn Thompson, who has worked in the automotive industry since 1992 and has extensive experience in the area. A few topics he covered during the seminar were:
- The buzz words: people use them but what is the aim of lean?
- Do we feel like ‘herding sheep?’
- The ‘House of Cards’ or the ‘House of Quality’
- Delivering quality: How to build quality with the basics
Attendees also enjoyed a meet-and-greet to sample and learn about several craft beers brewed by one of Hi-Wire’s own brewers!
