More than 60 PMA Member Companies Slated to Showcase Modern American Manufacturing During 5th Annual Manufacturing Day

CLEVELAND, OH—October 6, 2016—A record number of Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) member companies from all across the country are gearing up to participate in tomorrow’s 5th Annual Manufacturing Day.  On October 7, 2016, more than 60 PMA companies will open their manufacturing facilities for tours, information sessions and other activities as part of the nationwide effort to showcase the high-tech world of today’s American manufacturing sector.

“MFG Day is a celebration of who we are as American manufacturers and a chance to showcase our industry to the public,” said PMA President Bill Gaskin. “Manufacturing is growing in this country, supporting important sectors of our economy and creating jobs. We need to fill those jobs with a new generation of manufacturing workers who have the skills to keep our country competitive. Making manufacturing accessible to local students, teachers and families helps introduce these great careers and goes a long way to motivating these future industry leaders. I’m thrilled that so many PMA member companies are joining in this critically important effort.”

PMA member companies who are hosting students, teachers and other community members at their facilities are among the nearly 2,500 manufacturers who are participating in this year’s MFG Day. Visit the official MFG Day website here for a full list of scheduled events and a searchable map.

In conjunction with MFG Day, PMA and the PMA Educational Foundation launched a new website, the Center for Metalforming Careers (C4MC). The C4MC provides industry resources that highlight metalforming as an outstanding career option, as well as MFG Day resources to assist companies in hosting events to showcase the manufacturing industry.

PMA is the full-service trade association representing the $137-billion metalforming industry of North America—the industry that creates precision metal products using stamping, fabricating, spinning, slide forming and roll forming technologies, and other value-added processes. Its nearly 900 member companies also include suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the industry. PMA leads innovative member companies toward superior competitiveness and profitability through advocacy, networking, statistics, the PMA Educational Foundation, FABTECH and METALFORM Mexico tradeshows, and MetalFormingFabricating Product News and 3D Metal Printing magazines.
