PMA 80th Anniversary: Get to Know Lori Bailey, Accounting Assistant/Office Manager/Membership Coordinator

As PMA celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, we want you to get to know the people behind the scenes that have contributed to PMA’s success. Each month we will feature a key PMA staff member on our blog.

This month we are highlight Lori Bailey, who will be celebrating 23 years with PMA this fall. Read on to get to know more about Lori and her role with PMA.

On October 18th, it will be 23 years.

What made you want to work at PMA?
I originally came on board PMA as the accounting assistant. I previously worked for Riser Foods, Inc. in the accounts receivable department. Once Giant Eagle acquired the business, it moved to Pittsburgh, so when I heard about the position at PMA I thought it would be a great opportunity to stay in a field that I was interested in.

First event/meeting that you worked on/attended.
Working in the accounting area, I worked on no events or meetings directly. However, part of my responsibilities included working in the receptionist area. In that role, I was able to help our meeting attendees with any questions they had, in addition to getting a glimpse of how well our meetings team worked together putting on an event.

Favorite PMA memory?
My favorite memory is when I achieved my five-year milestone anniversary. I remember thinking that I finally was at an organization that had welcomed me and saw an opportunity to use all of my talents, helping me to grow and further expand my role at PMA.

What does PMA mean to you?
What PMA means to me is very simple—“FAMILY.” When the weekend comes to an end, I can honestly say I’ve never really thought, “ugh, the weekend’s over.” I love coming into work, and I enjoy seeing everyone and hearing about their lives.

What is your favorite part of your job? What excites you about working at PMA?
My favorite part of my job is that it constantly changes regarding who or what I’m working on. In addition to working with the PMA staff, I enjoy providing customer service to our members by assisting them with registration questions and updating their membership profiles, as well as answering any questions they may have through phone and e-mail inquiries.
