The Precision Metalforming Association Educational Foundation (PMAEF), in partnership with the Precision Metalforming Association Twin Cities District, has awarded scholarships to five individuals pursuing careers in the metalforming industry.
Recipients from the area who received scholarships during PMAEF’s 2026 scholarship cycle were:
- Paul Haapala, Saint Cloud State University, Mechanical Engineering — $750
- Ger Lor, Saint Paul College, CNC Toolmaking — $1,500
- Anthony Petkov, Northern Michigan University, Mechanical Engineering Technology — $1,500
- Emma Standen, Saint Paul College, CNC Toolmaking — $1,500
- Martha Wijaya, University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Manufacturing Engineering — $1,500
“Developing the next generation of manufacturing talent is one of the most important investments we can make,” said Connie King, PMAEF executive director. “The PMA Educational Foundation is honored to partner with PMA’s Twin Cities District to support this year’s scholarship recipients as they pursue careers in manufacturing. We look forward to recognizing more talented individuals through the scholarship program in 2027.”
Scholarship applicants must be a high school senior and/or formally enrolled in a post-secondary metalforming/manufacturing/technology/engineering program; trades job training/apprenticeship; or a machining, CNC, tool & die, welding or stamping certificate program at an accredited institution with 20 or more contact hours.
Since the PMAEF scholarship program launched in 2020, nearly $300,000 has been awarded to aspiring industry professionals. More information about the scholarship program, including eligibility requirements and the 2027 application process, is available on the PMAEF scholarship webpage.
