Alaina is a driven and creative welding engineering student. Her passion for welding began in high school, where she discovered an interest in the trade through technical classes and extracurricular clubs. That interest grew into a career goal after she and her team won first place in the 2022 SkillsUSA Welding and Fabrication National Competition in Atlanta.

At Pennsylvania College of Technology, Alaina serves as secretary of the American Welding Society student chapter and president of the SkillsUSA club. In these roles, she helps lead student engagement efforts and promotes professional growth among her peers. She actively participates in AWS student activities, community service projects and networking events, allowing her to connect with professionals and gain deeper insight into the welding industry.

Alaina frequently volunteers her time to mentor high school welding students, including those from her former career and technical education program. She travels home throughout the year to support students in their welding development and prepare them for SkillsUSA competitions.

She is especially drawn to welding engineering for its opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and make a positive impact on both industry and the community. Alaina’s combination of leadership, technical skill and service reflects her strong commitment to the field and to helping others succeed.
