Planning Begins for 2027 ICOSPA International Congress

CLEVELAND, OH—June 2, 2026—The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) announced today that it will host global manufacturing leaders at PMA headquarters in Independence, Ohio from September 22-24 for a key planning meeting ahead of the 2027 International Council of Sheet Metal Presswork Associations (ICOSPA) International Congress, the premier international gathering of metalforming industry leaders, which will return to the United States for the first time in nearly 20 years. The 2027 Congress will take place September 15-17, 2027, in Chicago, IL.

PMA staff executives and elected leaders will welcome representatives from ICOSPA member associations in France, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, and China for the ICOSPA Presidents Council meeting in Ohio to discuss planning for the ICOSPA Congress as well as key issues affecting the global metalforming industry. The event also will include tours of metalforming plants in northeast Ohio.

Hosted by PMA and coinciding with the 2027 FABTECH tradeshow, the 2027 ICOSPA Congress will be held at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile and will bring together more than 250 senior metalforming executives and manufacturing leaders from around the world.

The Congress will serve as a global forum for discussing the future of manufacturing, supply chains, workforce development, automation, and advanced production technologies. The event will feature presentations by industry leaders, panel discussions, plant tours showcasing cutting-edge innovations and emerging technologies, and networking opportunities designed to strengthen international business relationships and collaboration across the manufacturing sector.

“PMA is proud to host both gatherings of metalforming manufacturing leaders,” said Mark Getsay, PMA managing director. “These meetings come at a pivotal time for manufacturers as our industry navigates rapid technological change, evolving supply chains and other challenges.”

“The ICOSPA International Congress is already attracting strong industry support through sponsorships from leading companies, including title sponsor Principal Financial Group and day sponsors Aida-America Corp, Bruderer Machinery and Komatsu America Industries,” said Getsay. “These companies, along with other supporting partners, will play a vital role in helping PMA deliver a world-class experience for manufacturing leaders from around the world.”

Sponsorship opportunities remain available for companies interested in strategically positioning their business in front of hundreds of manufacturing decision-makers. Contact Erin Peterman at [email protected] for more information.

The FABTECH tradeshow, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event, will be held the same week as the ICOSPA International Congress, from September 13-16, 2027.

PMA is the full-service trade association representing the $137-billion metalforming industry of North America—the industry that creates precision metal products using stamping, fabricating, spinning, slide forming and roll forming technologies, and other value-added processes. Its more than 900 member companies also include suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the industry. PMA leads companies toward superior competitiveness and profitability through advocacy, networking, statistics, the PMA Educational Foundation, FABTECH tradeshows and MetalForming magazine.

ICOSPA is the prime platform for the cross-national exchange of the sheet metal engineering industry. Over the past 60 years, the member associations of ICOSPA have represented the voices of more than 12,300 companies of six nations throughout the world including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, China and the United States. Employing over 600,000, the majority of its member companies are small and medium-sized enterprises that supply assemblies, subassemblies and parts to the automotive, machinery, electrical and electronic industries, as well as many other industries.
