West Michigan Strengthens Member Awareness at AME Expo

On August 9, the PMA West Michigan District exhibited at the 2023 AME Expo in Grand Rapids. The show was a massive success, with more than 300 different exhibitors, over 5400 people registered and more than 4300 people in attendance.

During the two-day event, West Michigan district officers Steve Koets, Chad Coyle, Andrew Galardi, Jeff Umlor, Mike Van Dorp and others split shifts manning the booth, where they unveiled a new district banner and promoted district member companies with a large and prominent West Michigan District members wall. The wall proved to be a great conversation starter, as many attendees wanted to stop and recognize the names, allowing officers to promote member capabilities and introduce PMA membership benefits, accomplishing two objectives for exhibiting at the show.

A third objective accomplished was the promotion of the district’s local workforce development support. In both attendance and exhibits, the show attracted dozens of students and schools, offering opportunities for officers to connect with a variety of educational organizations and programs not previously known, garnering the possibility for future collaboration.

One huge benefit of exhibiting was the OJT PMA officer training. With booth materials that featured every aspect of the association combined with the direction of experienced officers like Steve Koets, officers learned how association resources fit together to maximize member benefits. PMA national Membership Engagement Manager Randy Kish was also in the booth lending a hand and providing additional perspective. Having to walk and talk PMA for two days, PMA West Michigan officers are at the top of their game!
