Jacob Winter has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic and technical advancement in fields related to metal processes, particularly mechanical engineering. Throughout his high school career, Jacob actively explored manufacturing processes across a variety of industries. Beginning with cabinet making and woodworking, Jacob’s early experiences sparked a deep interest in designing and fabricating tangible products. He has since expanded his expertise through courses at Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC), gaining hands-on experience in manual machining, welding and CAD/technical drafting, further solidifying his understanding of engineering and metalforming industries.
Jacob aspires to become a mechanical engineer, a profession where his technical background will enable him to design parts and collaborate effectively with fabricators and machinists. At Hamilton High School, he completed a rigorous curriculum including Wood Manufacturing, Welding, Principles of Engineering, and Architecture and Construction. Additionally, Jacob earned his Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) credential through independent study and has gained practical experience working as a carpenter for Captivate Exhibits, where he has contributed to building booths for tradeshows.
Jacob has competed multiple times at the SkillsUSA Wisconsin State Leadership Conferences, earning gold medals in Cabinetmaking and Woodworking Display divisions in 2022. This success led him to compete at the national level, where he gained valuable experience performing under pressure in a competitive environment.
Jacob has invested significant time and effort into advancing his skills across multiple manufacturing disciplines, including metalforming. This scholarship has assisted Jacob in continuing his education and achieving his goal of building a successful career in mechanical engineering.
Good luck to you, Jacob!
