Chicago District Donates $20,000 to the PMAEF General Fund

Adds PMA Scholarships to its List of 2022 Initiatives

Where does the money go?

That might be a question people ask when registering and attending PMA district events. After the costs are covered, the majority goes right back into the support of PMA initiatives, including the PMA Educational Foundation.

The latest, and by far the greatest, example of this attitude in-action (the year is young), is the recent $20,000 donation made by the Chicago District to the Precision Metalforming Association Educational Foundation (PMAEF) General Fund.

According to Ron Pitcher, President of Pitcher Insurance and PMA Chicago District Chair,

“We’re a strong district, with a loyal community of PMA members and friends who attend our events and programs. Their involvement allows us to make donations like this.”

Laura Profita, Chicago District Administrator, also added,

“It’s a great feeling to give back on our local members’ behalf and demonstrate our mission as a PMA district.”

The donation to the PMAEF General Fund will be used toward the further development of METALFORM EDU, PMA’s flagship online training platform which requires a range of resources, from content experts to writers, programmers and teachers.

In addition to the $20,000 donation to the PMAEF General Fund, the Chicago District is the newest addition to the PMAEF District Scholarship Program. Chicago joins East MichiganSoutheastSouthern New EnglandTennesseeWest Michigan and Wisconsin to offer $1,000 scholarships, twice a year (spring and fall). This program extends beyond two- and four-year offerings to include apprenticeships, job training and certificate programs. Spring applications are being accepted now until March 30.
