On-the-Job Training
This federally funded training program seeks to provide reimbursement to employers for costs associated with the hiring and training of WIOA eligible individuals. Up to half of eligible trainees’ beginning wages may be reimbursed, depending on availability of funds. Existing employees who need to advance their skills to learn new technologies or new jobs requiring additional skills are also eligible.

Workforce Enhancement Training Fund
The Mississippi Workforce Enhancement Training Fund (WET) serves to provide reimbursement for approved costs related to training for employers in order to enhance employee productivity in priority occupations. Eligible projects for priority industries include 1) training new or existing employees by the local community college, contractor or business; 2) train-the-trainer activities for disciplines not currently available through the local community college or company; and 3) vendor training.

Mississippi Works Fund
The Mississippi Works Fund serves to grow the state’s dedicated and skilled workforce to meet the demands of the state’s new and existing businesses. Eligible projects include job creation projects and work ready projects. Grants should be used to maximize existing training resources available through the Workforce Enhancement Training Funds (WET), the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and other sources. Benefitting business should be targeted towards high growth target industry sector as identified by the Mississippi Development Authority.

Mississippi Apprenticeship Program
Registered Apprenticeship is a program designed to support businesses in growing their own skilled workforce through a combination of rigorous on-the-job training and related classroom instruction. The Mississippi Apprenticeship Program (MAP) helps companies, regardless of size, develop a Registered Apprenticeship (RA) program from the initial concept phase to registration and subsequent implementation within the company. Recognizing that RA is business driven, MAP works closely with companies to identify the occupations and skillsets needed on their job site and build out a RA program designed to meet their needs.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit Program (WOTC) is designed as a federal income tax credit for employers who hire individuals who face obstacles to employment. Eligible target groups include Veterans; TANF recipients; Food Stamp recipients; Designated Community Residents; Vocational Rehabilitation referral; Ex-felons; Supplemental Security Income recipients and Long Term Unemployment Recipients.
