Training Events

What’s a direct route to success
with your employees?
Continuous learning opportunities.

Keep up to date on industry trends, deepen skills or learn new ones, network with industry peers, and broaden association engagement through PMA training events. Technical seminars, roundtables, webinars and more—PMA offers a multitude of opportunities to help your employees personally excel and transform your business.

Technical Seminars
Hands-on, live and instructor-led! Our technical seminars can be attended in-person or virtually and help your technical employees go deeper into skills, reinforce our online learning METALFORM EDU platform, and provide essential peer networking opportunities.

Roundtables
Like the value of connecting with your industry colleagues to learn best practices? PMA holds several roundtables each year that bring together topical experts and your peers—a perfect avenue to share advice and relevant industry trends through conversations and viewpoints.

Due to the purpose of these programs, Roundtables can be only be attended in-person. They provide a more intimate forum to discuss hot topics, common industry challenges, best practices, networking and benchmarking. Because PMA’s roundtables focus on a specific job function, the agendas remain relevant and valuable. PMA holds roundtables on:

  1. CFO and Finances
  2. Human Resources and Training
  3. Quality
  4. Sales and Marketing

Additionally, throughout the year, PMA’s local districts offer executive roundtables for industry leaders. Visit your local district page to receive more information on these events.

Management Development Academy (MDA)
Vince Lombardi once said, “Great leaders aren’t born, they’re made. And they’re made like anything else, through hard work.” You know who’s standing out as the next leaders in your organization. Help them make the transition easier, and show them their leadership career path opportunity, with PMA’s Management Development Academy.

MDA is a highly interactive, three-part series of customized workshops, designed to grow your business and your people’s leadership acumen to prepare them for success in their current and future roles. The program rotates through different walkable and exciting cities across the country.

Each session includes 2.5 days of expert-led workshop sessions, facilitated debriefs, activities and interaction, as well as plenty of time to connect with the presenters, facilitator, and cohort peers. These sessions are loaded with valuable best practices, lessons and experiential activities that participants can bring back and make immediately applicable.

NIMS / PMA Lunch and Learns

  •   Do you find it challenging to onboard employees?
  •   Does it take too long to train new employees to become productively independent?
  •   Are you losing employees due to a lack of effective training?

If you are nodding yes, keep reading!

Employers are often faced with On-the-Job Training (OJT) regardless of who or where they recruit employees. This is due to the unique specificity of their workplace tasks.

Most employers agree that OJT is an effective way to transfer knowledge and skills across an organization. This method can return a workforce qualified to satisfy production requirements. This is nothing new to employers, as most organizations have some form of OJT, whether formal or informal. The overarching reality that employers discover with OJT is a decision to train on the job is not a solution without knowing how to train on the job.

To learn how you can put these age-old struggles behind you, have lunch with Montez King, executive director, NIMS, and author of “Ultimate Guide to Enhancing Your Training Program” and Connie King, workforce development director, PMA. We're organizing FREE lunch and learns in your district. Submit your interest here so you can be notified for next lunch and learn.
