Travis is an aspiring electrical engineering student with a strong interest in manufacturing. His passion for the industry began at a young age after visiting the shop floor of his father’s workplace and becoming fascinated by the large machinery. He was also influenced by his brother, a master electrician, who introduced him to electrical systems and controls engineering. 

At 16, Travis interned in the accounting department at Traverse City Products, a stamping and roll-forming manufacturer. Though his role was in the office, he was drawn to the shop floor, where he observed daily operations. A few years later, he joined the company’s maintenance team, gaining hands-on experience and learning how preventive and predictive maintenance software improves machine reliability. 

These real-world experiences solidified his interest in engineering and confirmed his decision to pursue a career in the field. Travis will attend Michigan Technological University to study electrical engineering. After graduation, he hopes to become a controls engineer or factory electrician and eventually co-found a business in the manufacturing sector alongside his brother.
