The 2023 Metal Stamping Technology Conference returned to Nashville, TN, and welcomed more than 150 attendees who took part in networking, presentations, educational sessions and visits with many leading industry suppliers. Check out the photos from the conference here!

The night before the conference kicked off, attendees, sponsors and speakers headed to famous Broadway in downtown Nashville for an early arrivals meet-and-greet at Ole Red. They heard great music from some of Nashville’s most talented artists, enjoyed some great food and drinks, and networked with their peers.

Day One

The conference started with the opening keynote presenter, Laurie Harbour, who spoke on how the industry has responded to several years of instability and what manufacturers should be looking out for in 2023.

After Laurie, Josh Forquer and Mark Fabischek of KIRCHHOFF Automotive provided an update on third-generation steel and the benefits of using Gen III steels versus press-hardened steels. The final general session presentation of the day was delivered by Aravind Jonnalagadda of Synergy Additive Manufacturing on how advanced technologies are being used to reduce die manufacturing costs and time to market.

Day one ended with educational breakout sessions and a networking reception to view the exhibits.

Day Two

Dan Krug of Nucor Corporation started day two off with a keynote presentation on inclusion and diversity in the workplace. Following Dan, Daron Gifford from Plante Moran discussed how electric and autonomous vehicles are disrupting the manufacturing process and the new challenges that manufacturers will face.

After Daron, we again went to our educational breakout sessions, and then heard from our closing keynote speaker, Will Healy III of Universal Robots. Will provided an excellent roadmap to creating operational excellence in the pressroom.

We had great time in Music City learning the latest developments in stamping technologies. We’ll be heading back to Nashville again for next year’s conference on January 23-24. More information about the 2024 conference will be available in the summer.
