Joshua Wallen - Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College, Machine Tool Technology
Scholarship Amount
PMA Educational Foundation: $750Southeast District: $1,500
Total: $2,250
Joshua is studying Machine Tool Technology at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. He is just beginning his path in this field but looking forward to a long and rewarding career. He has not worked on machines other than through the college courses but has toured through a few machine shops that have piqued his interest in this field.
He is working toward his associate degree in Machine Tool Technology and would like to apply for a job at Phoenix Specialty when he graduates, and where he plans to gain experience soon by getting an internship at Phoenix Specialty.
He has achieved his OSHA 10 certification and hopes to gain more training that will advance his opportunities to get a job in this career field. Joshua will put this scholarship to good use by using it to further his education to become a contributing member of the machining society. This scholarship will also open opportunities to spend and/or save money to advance what he wants to do later in life instead of having to spend it on books and tuition. The PMA Southeast District scholarship will also help take some of the burden off his parents.
