Q: Which job classifications are the most challenging to find skilled workers?
A: Toolmaker and press operator are the most important positions we need to fill today. The average age of the skilled workers in these professions is getting close to retirement and there is a dearth of young skilled workers to hire in their place.

Q: What is the biggest technology challenge metalformers face today?
A: Expectations of zero PPM from customers means having to constantly be on the forefront of quality inspection technologies.

Q: What is on your wish list for your facility next year (i.e., a new piece of equipment)?
A: A fully automated wash / dry / pack setup for one of our highest volume parts.

Q: What is the best conference or seminar you or your employees attended in the past year and why?
A: My favorite group is the PMA IJB Executive Networking group. All the members are there to grow and learn. I walk away from every meeting with at least 5 to 10 new, feasible ideas.

Q: What conference topic (related to the metalforming/manufacturing industry) would you be most interested in attending?
A: Understanding the demands of our customers from a T&C and NDA perspective. The industry is becoming more litigious and we as suppliers need to understand how to protect ourselves without all of us needing our own general counsel.

Q: Minivan, SUV or sedan?
A: I just traded in my Volvo S60 for a Toyota Highlander. Growing family = bigger car. So far, I’m extremely happy with it.

Q: What are the top three songs on your play list right now?
A: All Around the World and Can’t Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers (both have been on my play list for about 15 years); All I Do Is Win - DJ Khaled; Scenes From an Italian Restaurant – Billy Joel
